Is Martha Karua and Uhuru Kenyatta an item?

Formerly known as the Iron Lady while serving under the Kibaki government,  Karua told the interview that she was working closely with the opposition but had not yet sat with anyone to talk about joining any faction.
Karua fell out with the former president, Mwai Kibaki on what she termed as a difference in principals and thereafter, assumed a backbench position in parliament.
Recently in July 2016, Karua- the NARC-Kenya leader, met  Raila Odinga and Musalia Mudavadi at a convention in Philadelphia though the subject of their deliberation was not made public.
Since then, there have been speculations that the feted lawyer  and her party would probably join the opposition in a political alignment ahead of the election.
The decision to join or go it alone, she says, is not her decision to make- that her party will be collectively charged with charting the way forward- as opposed to giving one person to make all the decisions.
Karua continued to say that the merger of the Jubilee Alliance Party (JAP) that was looking to form one collective party was wrong as it was taking Kenya back to the Moi-one-party era.
On her relationship with Uhuru Kenyatta, Karua said that their relationship was just like the president’s relationship with any other Kenyan- they were not friends but enjoyed living in the same country.
Karua added that it was unlikely that her party would be joining the soon-to-be-launched Jubilee political outfit.
With political shifts in the world seeing  the rise of female leaders, Karua accused the media of distorting the narrative, saying that there was no  ‘right time’ to have women leaders because no one ever questioned the readiness of men to lead in the first place.
