Former MP Dennis Akumu has passed away

Everyone has got to pay the debt of nature in one way or the other. some  make it through accidents while others in very terrible means never admired by anyone in this world.

Now the time for the Former Nyakach MP Dennis Akumu has reached  after a short illness at a Nairobi hospital where he was declared dead.

The former legislator died on Wednesday night at the Aga Khan Hospital, Nairobi.

He served as an MP for two terms, between 1969 to 1973 and later 1992 to 1997.

He served his first term as a KANU MP, at a time when the country was under a one party rule. He later vied successfully under the Ford Kenya party ticket.

Mr Akumu also served as a Central Organization of Trade Unions (COTU) secretary general and later was elected secretary of the African Trade Unions.

His widow, Grace Akumu, eulogised him as a great man saying it was a great loss to the family and the people of Nyakach.
