Everyone leaves his home hoping and expecting to go back safely and happy. But as we all know, God has alot in store for us including paying the debt of nature at the time and moment not known to us but only him and him alone. so here are some of the roads you can try to dodge just to be a bit safe even though death can find you every where, but atlaest not you taking yourself to it.
The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has released a list of some of the most dangerous roads in the capital city Nairobi and the days most accidents occur.
Since January, Saturday has had 301 fatalities, Sunday 267 and Friday 253.
Nairobi county is followed closely by Nakuru, Kiambu and Makueni.
The latest comes as road accidents continue to claim lives and leave many more injured.
The latest was the killing of three students of St. Mary’s Nyamagwa Girls High School when their new bus overturned while they were on a road trip.
Thika Superhighway leads with the highest number of accidents and fatalities. It is considered the most dangerous road in the city.
Despite fatalities resulting from road accidents reducing compared to a time like this last year, Nairobi county still leads in the number of accidents across the country with 16%.
Last year, the fatalities were at 23%.
Since the beginning of January 2016, 30 fatalities have occurred on the highway.
It is followed closely by Mombasa Road, then Waiyaki Way, Eastern By-pass, Kangundo Road and Jogoo Road.
NTSA also found that Saturdays are the days most accidents occur in Nairobi, followed by Sundays.
Most accidents occur around 8 p.m on weekends.
Some of the causes of the accidents include speeding, drink-driving, and lack of general observation of road safety rules.
Wajir county was ranked the safest in road use as no fatalities have been recorded.
