Al Shabaab Forcing Kenyan Women to Feed Them

Security forces in Lamu County are on high alert after claims emerged that Al Shabaab militiamen have been raiding villages and forcing women to feed them.

According to some officers working in the region, the militants hiding in Boni forest have been forcing their way into neighbouring villages and ordering women to cook for them under the guise of being herdsmen.
Reports further suggest that some of the militants are evading police traps by mingling with residents, with locals protesting over failed attempts to clear the fighters off the forest.

Confirming the claims, Coast region Police boss Julius Wanjohi said that they had received the information promising to probe further.
“We have started thorough investigations to establish the truth,“ Mr Wanjohi was quoted by People Daily.
This comes amid tension in the areas surrounding the vast forest, after the Somalia-based fighters ambushed and killed more than three people on Sunday morning.
Heavily armed gunmen are said to have attacked Kaisari Village in Pandanguo and burnt houses despite a spirited fight by Kenyan forces to weed out the militants from the forest
